Shipping heavy equipment from the Port of Oakland
Oakland is a container port for export machinery: containers and flat racks load at four terminals, while its only RoRo service runs to Hawaii and its breakbulk berths are available for lease, so export RoRo and breakbulk go through Los Angeles[1][2].
Official website: Port of Oakland. Terminal names and figures on this page come from its own publications, listed under Sources.

Terminals and rail
Union Pacific and BNSF rail yards sit beside the marine terminals[4]. Containers and flat racks from Northern California, and by rail from the Denver and Salt Lake City ramps, load here; a machine that has to roll or be lifted aboard for an overseas port goes south to Los Angeles.
