Shipping heavy equipment from the Port of Brunswick
Brunswick is Georgia’s RoRo and breakbulk port: machinery rolls aboard at Colonel’s Island Terminal and lifts at Mayor’s Point, while containers and flat racks go through Savannah, the Georgia Ports Authority’s container port[1][2][3].

Terminals and rail
For heavy lifts the Georgia Ports Authority has its own crane rated at 100 US tons (90.7 t) and can bring in a barge-mounted crane rated at 500 US tons (453.6 t) through a private contractor[4]. Colonel’s Island’s rail capacity is more than 340,000 autos a year[2].
Georgia Ports Authority moved RoRo and bulk ships from Savannah to Brunswick so Savannah could become all-container[7]. A Georgia shipment that drives or needs a crane loads here.
