Delivering 47 Wind Turbine Components Across 3,000 Miles
El Desafío
The client needed to transport 47 oversized wind turbine components from Port of Houston to a remote wind farm site 200km inland in northeastern Brazil. Challenges included 60-meter blade lengths exceeding standard transport limits, limited road infrastructure in the destination region, strict delivery windows to meet turbine installation schedules, and coordination with multiple carriers across ocean and inland segments.
Nuestra Solución
We developed a comprehensive multi-modal solution combining ocean freight via breakbulk vessel, specialized blade transport trailers with hydraulic steering, and extensive route surveys and infrastructure modifications. Our team coordinated with Brazilian authorities for permits, arranged escort vehicles, and scheduled deliveries during optimal traffic windows.
